Haircuts!!

I took the little two Friday night to get their hair trimmed. This is the second time that they have visited Leslie (my hairdresser) and they both love to go! Lauren wanted her hair cut short, but Leslie refused... so she settled for a three inch trim. Kristen wanted her hair curly and was a little upset that her hair wasn't curly afterward, but she still loved sitting in the chair and feeling like a big girl. They both turned out beautiful!

A Quiet House...

Well, an unfortunate dead battery in the car has left me alone in a queit house for over two hours. I offered to come pick up the kids from Tim while the battery was replaced, but he said they would be done soon and on their way home. He sounded a little irritated on the phone... apparantly it's my fault that the battery died!

So, alone for a few hours, what should I do? Wrap Christmas presents (only two weeks away), scrapbook, take a nap, hop on the treadmill, clean house, read a book or magazine out of my pile, clean out the kids closets... What do I do? Facebook old pictures!

Christmas Wishes...

We went to visit Santa tonight at the Riverside Plaza. The kids thought hard all the way there about what they wanted to request from Santa. Allie asked for a PSP (Playstation Portable), Nathan asked for a real quad, Lauren wants an Ipod, and Kristen wanted a puppy (I'm not sure if she wanted a real one or a toy). Hopefully, Santa won't let them down!

Most of the day was spent decorating the Christmas Tree. Each year the kids pick out new ornaments from Hallmark. Allie chose a cute Gingerbread Man in a box, Nate got a Star Wars Death Star ornament, Lauren found a cute monkey, and Kris picked the Little Mermaid ( in human and mermaid form no less!)

Proof!

I just wanted to post this to prove that Kristen does love me! I know this will come in handy in about 10 years when she's a teenager... Although it may look like I prompted her, I just told her that the camera was ready, she did the rest all on her own. Hard to believe that this is my trouble-maker!

Four Things To Start

Okay, so I've been inspired to start blogging about my family and adventures as a way to record all of the things that happen in and around my life. I thought that it would be appropriate to start with four thoughts today in honor of the title of my new blog.

1. Boices...
Kristen is sick with her first cold of the season, making her voice sound gravelly and rough. Monday night she comes into our room at 1:30 am and yells, "Mom, my boice is not working!". After my heart settled and I could breathe again, I dragged her to the bathroom and dosed her up with more Benedryl, as any good mom would do.

I love the mispronunciations of kids... maybe not so much at 1 am... but they always bring a smile to my face and give me a little insight to their world.

2. Waxing...
As I was sitting at the computer last night Facebooking, Nathan came up to me...
Nate: "Mom, you need to shave", pointing to my upper lip.
Thanks Nate, I'll get right on it.

3. Twilight...
I tried as hard as I could to avoid these books. Being a young adult librarian, it was a feat that I had lasted as long as I did. I wanted to read the first book before I saw the movie, so I picked up the book two weeks ago. I am now almost finished with book four of the saga. All I can say is...

Team Edward! He's sparkley.

4. Steffy Hall...
The moniker my twin godsons, Aiden and Riley (5), gave to me so that they can distinguish between me and their auntie Steffy.
